Christopher Chance discusses another of his books at the most recent Autumn Book Signing at Community Books, 11 Welby Street, Grantham.

BENEATH THE POPPY FIELDS is a work of fiction based on real events set at the height of hostilities during World War 1.

A somewhat different take on the slogan ‘digging for victory’ this is a realistic and harrowing story of a team of Lancashire miners who were specifically recruited to go underground and blow up the Germans beneath no man’s land.

Meanwhile, their absence created different scenarios back home for lonesome wives and girlfriends.

A unique book, especially at this time of the year on the lead up to Armistice Day.
