A WHITE CHRISTMAS IN A SPANISH PRISON by Christopher Chance

Author and scriptwriter Christopher Chance describes his joy on looking through the bars of his cell window at the snow blanketing the area outside the prison walls on Christmas morning. He describes the guilt he feels, not for what he did, but the sorrow for his wife, his mother and and the rest of the family celebrating around the Christmas table with an empty chair. He knows they will raise a glass to him and is thankful that they support him by sending money to buy some treats such as chocolate at this time.

Amazingly the Christmas dinner is outstanding! Not the usual prison food but a magnificent spread brought in by outside caters comprising of seafood, chicken, beef, pork and even trifle heavily laced with Sherry – well this is Spain after all. The prison director must have been filled with the season of goodwill.

At this time of trial and uncertainty remember there always has to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Wishing You All A Very Merry Christmas and A Happy, Prosperous and Healthy New Year!
